Minneapolis adding 8 new precincts, moving 4 polling places

In an effort to provide an improved voter experience in some of our largest precincts, and to help keep lines manageable, Minneapolis will be adding eight new precincts and relocating four existing polling places.

Beginning with the August 12 State Primary Election, a total of eight new precincts will be added in Wards 1, 3, 5, 12 and 13. The four polling place changes are occurring in Wards 3, 7, 11 and 12.

These changes were presented to the Elections & Rules Committee of the City Council on April 23, 2014. That presentation includes more details and a city-wide map showing new precinct lines in red: New Precincts - Polling Place Moves 2014 - Presentation

All affected registered voters will receive a postcard notice from Hennepin County, listing the new precinct/polling location. Every voter is encouraged to use the online Polling Place finder to check where to vote. Voters can also call 311 for help in finding their assigned polling place or with other questions. (Dial 311 in the 612 Area Code, or call 612-673-3000).
