Extended absentee voting hours coming up

City Hall has been open for in-person absentee voting on weekdays since June 27. As the Primary Election draws closer, in addition to being open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, City Hall will be open some additional days and times for voters who wish to cast an absentee ballot in person. This includes this Saturday, August 2, and the following Saturday, August 9, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days, as well as extended hours on the final day of absentee voting, Monday, August 11, until 5 p.m.

Absentee voting during the week has been taking place in the Rotunda of City Hall. Voters can enter the building on either the 4th Street side coming directly into the rotunda, or the 5th Street side, by the Light Rail tracks, and follow the signs down to where the voting is occurring.

For the two Saturdays of absentee voting, voters are asked to enter the building on the 4th Street side, and will be directed to the elevators to the basement level of City Hall for voting.

In addition to casting an absentee ballot in person, all voters also have the option of requesting an absentee ballot by mail. There's still a little time left to get in a request, which can be submitted directly online, and return a completed ballot by mail or in person back to the Elections & Voter Services office. For more information about voting by absentee ballot, please visit http://vote.minneapolismn.gov/voters/absentee
