Are you pre-registered for the Nov. 4 General Election?
Easy to use online tools available through vote.minneapolismn.gov can help voters make sure they are ready for Election Day. The website links to a voter registration lookup tool, which lets voters confirm they are registered to vote under their current name and address. The deadline to pre-register to vote in the upcoming general election is Tuesday, Oct. 14. Voters must re-register if they move, change their name, or have not voted in the past four years. Voters can register or update their registration by using the online application, or by filling out and submitting by mail or in person a registration application available at city and county government offices and in multiple languages online.
Additional online tools linked through the City’s elections website make it possible for voters to find their polling place and can provide information on how to register to vote. There are also links to get a list of candidates, ballot questions and a sample ballot for individual precincts.
Voters who miss the deadline to pre-register may still be able to vote. In Minnesota individuals may register at the polls on Election Day by providing one of the forms of identification required by Minnesota law. Please allow extra time at the polls to register. See the City’s elections website for a list of identification required to register and vote on Election Day.
