Heading to the polls today? What voters need to know
Polls are open today from 7 am until 8 pm for voting in the General election. If you're still heading out to cast your ballot, be sure you're ready with the help of the many tools available on vote.minneapolismn.gov and through the elections tab of the 311 mobile app.
All voters are encouraged to double check their polling location. Minneapolis has added eight new polling places and changed the location of four others, so take two minutes and use the polling place finder
to make sure you're off to the right place. While you're checking your polling place, you can also link directly to your sample ballot. Take a look at what will be on your ballot when you get to the polls so you can be prepared. You can even print off the sample ballot and bring it with you as a reference.
If you aren't already registered to vote, you can register at the polls. A current Minnesota driver's license or state ID - or receipt for either of these
- with your current address serves to verify both your identify and address for registration. If you don't have a current driver's license or state ID, the list of documents
you can use as proof of identity and address has been expanded, making it easier for more eligible voters to get registered at the polls. Having another registered voter in your precinct vouch for you is another option for getting registered.
Election resources in multiple languages are available on the Language Support
page of the Elections website to help ensure all voters are prepared and know what to expect at their polling place.
