Voter registration events

You can help others in your community get registered to vote. If you're hosting a voter registration drive event, it's important to read and understand the guidelines.

To provide paper voter registrations at your event, you can download applications from the Minnesota Office of the Secretary of State. They have applications in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and other languages.

Any applications you collect must be returned to the Office of the Secretary of State or your county election office within 10 days of when the voter signed and dated the application. You may also return them to our office and we will send them to the appropriate county.

Ranked choice voting education

Ranked choice voting (RCV) is used for Minneapolis Municipal Elections. Since this voting method is only used in local elections, some voters may need a refresher! We've made a handout that explains how to mark a RCV ballot.

Handout available in:

  • English
  • Hmong
  • Somali
  • Spanish

View and download the RCV instructions handout in multiple languages

We also have educational RCV videos produced in English, Hmong, Somali, and Spanish.
