Voting during COVID-19

Keep yourself, other voters, and election workers safe.

Three voting options

We want you to stay safe while exercising your right to vote this year. You can choose what option is best for you.

Three different voting options:

  1. You may choose to vote by mail to reduce your risk of exposure. All Minnesota voters are eligible to vote by mail for any reason. Plan ahead and get your application in early! Apply for a Minneapolis mail ballot
  2. You can vote early in-person at our Early Vote Center. We'll be open starting 46 days before every Election Day. Here you can register to vote, use an accessible voting machine, and get help from one of our bilingual election staff members.
  3. Finally, you can choose to vote on Election Day at your assigned polling place.

Whatever voting option is right for you this year, we'll be here to serve you. We'll continue to assess the health and safety of our staff and voters and will post any updated voting recommendations.

Polling places and COVID-19

We have specific COVID-19 polling place protocols. These guidelines provided a safe and healthy environment for all voters and election judges. We've continued to update our guidelines, following current best practices.
